5-Year Plan

Polk County SWCD’s 5-Year Soil and Water Resource Conservation Plan was approved on July 20, 2021.

Priority Goals

  • Evaluate market diversification (land use) using systems approaches
  • Integrate GIS mapping into systems approaches
  • Turnkey, systems-based water quality infrastructure (e.g., constructed wetlands, saturated buffers)
  • Develop turnkey systems-based, county-wide soil health program
  • Develop real-time, river level water quality monitoring and management system (WQM2S)
  • Urban, beginning and DEI agriculture
