5-Year Plan
Polk County SWCD’s 5-Year Soil and Water Resource Conservation Plan was approved on July 20, 2021.
Priority Goals
- Evaluate market diversification (land use) using systems approaches
- Integrate GIS mapping into systems approaches
- Turnkey, systems-based water quality infrastructure (e.g., constructed wetlands, saturated buffers)
- Develop turnkey systems-based, county-wide soil health program
- Develop real-time, river level water quality monitoring and management system (WQM2S)
- Urban, beginning and DEI agriculture
