Robert, one of the first farmers to build grassed backslope terraces in Montgomery County, IA, built most of the terraces in the summer months more than 30 years ago, using 50 percent cost-share funds from the Division of Soil Conservation, Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.
